Each time Gwinnett Ballet Theatre stages a production, we designate a number of performances as specially priced community enrichment performances for groups that could not otherwise afford to purchase a large block of tickets.

Our annual Nutcracker production serves about 3,500 children and adults each year through these special shows. GBT considers our community enrichment performances to be the primary means by which diverse audiences are exposed often for the first time to fine ballet and classical music. Public and private schools, homeschools, preschools, day care centers, senior citizens, churches, scouting organizations, and the developmentally disabled are the main groups targeted for inclusion at our these specially priced shows.

Community enrichment performances bring many benefits to the children and families who attend, including:

  • enjoyment of a timeless and beautiful dance production,
  • exposure to the broader worlds of ballet and classical music in all their beauty,
  • participation in a high-quality arts event close to home, and understanding of the many elements story, music, choreography, costuming, dancing that go into staging a ballet.

GBT has also worked with Atlanta’s Special Audiences, distributing tickets to underserved populations. GBT has also distributed tickets to numerous local civic, senior, and child services groups.
